A brilliant and rare example of Arts and Crafts painting.
This large scale canvas, beautifully framed, was executed by William Matthews.
Born in 1878, he studied at the St. Louis School of Fine Arts,
was a member of the St. Louis Artists Guild, 2 x 4 Society,
as well as the Society of Ancients.
Among his awards are the St. Louis Artists Guild 1914 (Prize) and 1915 (Prize).
